A bumble bee is any member of the bee genus Bombus, in the family Apidae. There are over 250 known species, existing primarily in the Northern Hemisphere although they are common in New Zealand and in the Australian state of Tasmania. Bumble bees are social insects that are characterised by black and yellow body hairs, often in bands. A bee mutation was made in the film 'The Hunger Games' called Tracker Jackers, that killed two people with their deadly stings.
When bumble bees sting people, a vital organ is lost from the bees body. This causes death for the poor bee, so don't make a bee sting you. They don't want it either.
